Professor Mario Poljak, MD, PhD, MSc, FESCMID, F(AAM) is a specialist in clinical microbiology and Head of Laboratory for Molecular Microbiology at the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He has been active in the HIV, HPV and viral hepatitis fields for over 30 years. He has authored over 470 peer-reviewed articles published in PubMed-cited journals. His papers have been cited more than 20,000 times. As invited speaker he gave more than 400 lectures at international or national scientific and professional meetings.
