Marvelous is employed by ViiV Healthcare Canada as a Community Relations Manager. She is a social work and global health practitioner with 23 years of experience as a manager and project coordinator, amongst other administrative roles in the non-profit and NGO sectors. Her career history includes 12 years of experience specialising in health promotion, program development, case management and outreach to women and ethnic and cultural communities in Toronto, Canada, and 19 years’ of international work as a gender and human rights activist.
Marvelous is passionate about seeking social justice in all its forms – not just by improving the lives of individuals but by changing systems of oppression through collective action. She is an affirming HIV-positive woman, writer, motivational speaker and advocate for marginalised communities. Marvelous sits on several national boards with a global reach, which she uses to uplift the narratives of those who face injustice. She believes that justice must be intersectional and inclusive to improve the quality of life for all.
