Massimo Puoti, MD

Biography

Massimo Puoti, MD is a Specialist in Gastroenterology and in Infectious Disease. From 1988 consultant in the department of Infectious Diseases of the AO Spedali Civili of Brescia, Italy a General Teaching Hospital. From 2005 to 2010  Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases in the School of Medicine of the University of Brescia. The main fields of research of dr. Puoti are Hepatitis Viruses and HIV infections. From 2010 Director of the Infectious Diseases Department of the Great Metropolitan Hospital  Niguarda in Milan and from 2020 Professor of Infectious Diseases of the University of Milano - Bicocca School of Medicine.

Dr. Puoti has published 293 papers on peer-reviewed international journals (including Science, Blood, Hepatology, Journal of Hepatology, Archives of Internal Medicine, Journal of Infectious Diseases, Clinical Infectious Diseases, AIDS, Journal of AIDS etc. ) focusing on epidemiology, fundamental and therapeutic aspects of  HIV and hepatitis viruses infections. He is Member of the European Association for the Study of The Liver (EASL), European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, Italian Association for the Study of the Liver, Italian Society for the Study of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, Italian Society for the Study of Sexually Transmitted Diseases. He was a Member of the coordinating committee of  Associazione Italiana Studio Fegato (Italian Association for the Study of the Liver) from 2004 to 2007.
