Biography

Dr Michelle Moorhouse is a Senior Global Medical Director at ViiV Healthcare. She completed her medical training in South Africa at the University of the Witwatersrand. She has worked across a number of sectors, dedicating her career to making a difference in the lives of people living with HIV. Much of her research has been in the field of treatment optimisation especially in lower- and middle- income countries. She was co-principal investigator on the large ADVANCE study. She was a member of the South African National Third-Line ART Committee, and served on various National guideline committees. She was also a member of the global HIV resistance network, and an advisor to the Stanford database. Michelle served on the Board of Directors of the Southern African HIV Clinicians Society, and was Editor-in-Chief of the SA Journal of HIV Medicine. Currently she also holds an Honorary HIV Consultant appointment at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital
