Ngoc Anh Nguyen

Biography

Ngoc Nguyen is technical advisor/consultant for the Community-Led Monitoring project funded by PEPFAR Vietnam (US Embassy in Hanoi), in collaboration with the HCMC AIDS Association and the Vietnam Network for People Living with HIV. Professionally, over the past 18 years, he has served as technical officer/specialist at the UNESCO Office in Vietnam, Family Health International 360, Harvard Medical School AIDS Initiative in Vietnam and PATH. Thanks to those HIV-related experiences, he got the opportunity to work with the Ministry of Health (Vietnam Administration for HIV/AIDS Control) and a number of community-based organizations in drafting national technical guidelines and designing community-led health service delivery models, advocacy, documentation and partnership support. After completing the Fellowship HIV Research Program at the University of Pittsburgh (USA) in 2013 and the La Trobe University (Australia) in 2014, Ngoc has worked with both communities and academic researchers to carry out applied community-based participatory research in both Vietnam and the region. Ngoc has acted as principal investigator and co-investigator of a number of studies and co-author of publications focusing on HIV and LGBTQ+ health and rights. He is a member of the International AIDS Society.
