Nicolas de Prost, MD, PhD, devoted his career to intensive care medicine. Since completing a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, he graduated from Paris 7 University and completed his clinical fellowship in the medical intensive care unit at Henri Mondor Hospital, Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris.
Dr de Prost’s research has focused on various areas of pulmonary critical care medicine, including ventilator-induced lung injury, acute respiratory distress syndrome, experimental models of acute lung injury and pulmonary infections. Recently, he developed a particular interest for viral infections, including influenza and SARS-CoV-2 severe pulmonary infections. He is the primary investigator of several epidemiogical studies on critically ill COVID-19 patients. Dr de Prost currently is a professor of intensive care medicine at Henri Mondor Hospital, Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris,n Créteil, France.
