A dedicated Internal Medicine physician, Dr. Noela holds degrees from Makerere University and Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda.
With over eight years of experience at IDI, Dr. Noela is deeply committed to improving patient care, specializing in Advanced HIV disease and managing comorbidities such as Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus. She has been instrumental in integrating HIV care with Non-communicable Diseases management. Additionally, Dr. Noela supports in training of medical officers as well as local and international students and student projects within the institute.
Dr. Noela’s research interests lie in the field of precision and translational medicine, focusing on enhancing patient outcomes at the individual level. She is currently involved in studying outcomes of Long-acting ART versus Standard of Care among patients withrisk of viral non-suppression. Outside of her professional endeavours, she enjoys dancing, exploring local tourism, and engaging in farming.
