Dr. Odilia Corneth is groupleader of the Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) workgroup of the department of Pulmonary Medicine at the Erasmus MC Rotterdam. Her group studies the (immune)pathogenesis of sarcoidosis and pulmonary fibrosis, focussing in particular on the contribution of lymphocytes to these diseases.
Dr. Corneth performed her PhD in rheumatology and continued studying chronic immune driven diseases, including systemic autoimmune diseases, ILD, and more recently Long COVID. The aim of her work is to understand the effect of long-term immune activation on the immune system, and to identify early events in disease pathogenesis that can be used for diagnosis and monitoring, or that can be targeted therapeutically.
