Parul Patel, Pharm.D. is currently a Global Medical Affairs Director at ViiV Healthcare and has been an Industry Liaison to the Antiviral PK Workshop since 2015 and was previously Director of Clinical Pharmacology leading the Cabotegravir Clinical Pharmacology Development Program since 2014. Dr. Patel has been involved in HIV and antibacterial drug development at GlaxoSmithKline and ViiV Healthcare for over 14 years across early to late stage clinical development and medical affairs. Prior to joining GlaxoSmithKline, Dr. Patel served as an HIV clinical pharmacist for 5 years at the University of California, San Diego Owen Clinic. She is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, presentations, book chapters, and is a contributing author to the 4th edition of Drug Interactions in Infectious Diseases focusing on the clinical pharmacology and drug interactions of protease and integrase inhibitors. Dr. Patel received her Pharm.D. at the University of Southern California and completed her pharmacy practice residency at University of California, San Diego and a pediatric pharmacology fellowship under Edmund Capparelli, Pharm.D. at the Pediatric Pharmacology Research Unit at University of California, San Diego.
