Ramy Younes, MD

Biography

Dr Ramy Younes is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist in the Liver Unit at the Molinette University Hospital, Turin, Italy. Specifically, together with prof. Elisabetta Bugianesi, he is involved in patient care at the NAFLD Clinics.

He is also a visiting clinical researcher at the Institute of Cellular Medicine, Newcastle University, United Kingdom, since September 2017, when he joined the research team lead by prof. Quentin Anstee.

His research focuses on the natural history, epidemiology, genetics and pathophysiological mechanisms of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

He is part of the EU Horizon 2020 funded ‘EPoS’ Elucidating Pathways of Steatohepatitis consortium (2015-2019) as well as the EU Horizon 2020 funded ‘LITMUS’ Liver Investigation: Testing Marker Utility in Steatohepatitis consortium (2017-2022), where he is involved in patient recruitment and he is the coordinator of the Litmus Histopathology Group.
