Rangsima Lolekha, MD

Biography

Dr. Rangsima Lolekha received her Medical Degree and Pediatric Infectious Diseases specialty training from Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. Her current position is Chief of Treatment and Care Section at the Division of Global HIV and TB Program (DGHT) Thailand Office, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Thailand Office. She has been working with DGHT Thailand since 2004. Dr. Rangsima has provided technical support to Thailand Ministry of Public Health, Bangkok Metropolitans Administration, and Lao PDR on strengthening adult, adolescent, and pediatric HIV treatment and care quality programs and elimination of mother-to-child of HIV and syphilis transmission (EMTCT). During 2009 to 2018, she had worked in collaboration with the Thailand Ministry of Public Health for pilot implementation and national expansion of couples HIV testing and counseling program at antenatal care setting in Thailand. She actively participated in the process of elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis validation and re-validation in Thailand. In 2018, Dr. Rangsima served as a member of the Regional Validation Team to validate EMTCT of HIV and syphilis in Malaysia. She has published over 35 peer-reviewed publications including MMWR Morb Mortal Wkly Rep, PLoS One, and J Int AIDS Society.
