Raúl J. Andrade is a Professor of Medicine and Director of the Department of Medicine at the University of Malaga. Head of the Gastroenterology Service, “Virgen de la Victoria” University Hospital of Málaga. Founder and director of the Spanish Drug Induced Liver Injury (DILI) Registry (www.spanishdili.uma.es)-the first network specialized in the study of Drug Induced Liver Injury- and of the Spanish Latin-American DILI Network and the Prospective European DILI Registry awarded by the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) in 2014. Chairman of the EASL Clinical Practice Guidelines on Drug Induced Liver Injury. Chairman of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology action (COST), “Prospective European Drug-Induced Liver Injury Network (Pro-Euro-DILI-Net)” (2018). Co-Chair of CIOMS (Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences) working group on DILI (2017). Principal investigator of CIBERehd group on DILI granted by the Spanish Ministry of Health. Expert of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Spanish Medicines Agency in the Evaluation of the liver safety of drugs. Member of the expert panel of the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) since 2016). Professor Andrade is President of the Spanish Association for the Study of the Liver (2019-2021). Associate editor of Liver International (Q1) and member of the editorial board of: Hepatology (2012-2016) (D1) and Frontiers in Pharmacology (Q1) and appointed for the Editorial Board of Journal of Hepatology (D1) (2020-2023). He published over 250 articles in peer-review journals, and 43 book chapters. He has an h-index of 43 and 8290 total citations. 20 publications were cited more than 100 times and 37 original articles received more than 50 citations. He presented more than 340 communications and invited lectures in International & National Scientific Meetings. He was elected Fellow by the AASLD (2016) for significant contribution to the science and practice of hepatobiliary diseases.
