Rebecca Mbewe is a Research Assistant with the SHARE collaborative at Queen Mary University London, bringing over 25 years of experience in HIV work, deeply shaped by her own lived experience. Prior to the research role, Rebecca co-led the GROWS (Growing Older Wiser Stronger) program, supporting women over 40 ageing with HIV.
Rebecca is a speaker, trainer and mentor and also serves as a community representative on the British HIV Association (BHIVA) through the UK Community Advisory Board (UKCAB).
She is also a director of the 4M Mentor Mothers Network CIC, which provides mentoring, support, and training for women living with HIV through the perinatal journey. Additionally, Rebecca co-authored the book Our Stories Told by Us, which highlights the African contribution to the UK HIV response. Her primary interests lie in Sexual Reproductive and Health Rights and wellbeing of underserved women.
