Dr. Reson Marima is a Kenyan-trained pediatrician with over 15 years of experience in leading public health programs in East and Southern Africa. She is a transformational leader with skills in all facets of program design and implementation of HIV prevention, care and treatment programs, reproductive maternal and child health programs, and water sanitation and hygiene.
Dr. Marima has vast experience in implementing innovative approaches for expanding access and improving patient outcomes by strengthening health systems. Dr. Marima is well versed in health strategy and in using data for precision programming and in deploying technology-based solutions to solve health problems.
Dr. Marima serves as Chief of Party for the University of Nairobi’s USAID-funded Fahari ya Jamii project, which means “the pride of the family” and is supporting the county governments of Nairobi and Kajiado to reach HIV epidemic control and strengthen health systems using sustainable approaches. One of the areas of current focus is to implement population-specific interventions for those that are lagging behind in achieving epidemic control including children and adolescents.
