Dr. Rossana A. Ditangco graduated doctor of medicine from the FEU-Nicanor Reyes Foundation. She took her residency training in internal medicine at National Kidney and Transplant Institute and fellowship training in infectious and tropical diseased from UP-PGH and RITM. She is currently a fellow of the Philippine College of Physician and Philippine Society for Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Ditangco's career in HIV and AIDS started when she was a infectious disease fellow in training at RITM. She joined the RITM's AIDS Research Group when she became a Medical specialist at the Institute and later became the head of the research group. She underwent training on clinical management of HIV at Cornell University New York and was a post doctoral fellow at the Department of Global Health and EPidemiology, Graduate School of Medicine, Hokkaido University, Japan.
Dr. Ditangco is currently the principal investigator for the Philippine site of the TREAT ASIA and Asia Pacific HIV Observational Database Study . She is the principal investigator of the first and only HIV incidence study among MSM in the Philippines and the pilot study on PrEP among MSM. She has also developed and currently implementing the national program on HIV drug resistance monitoring, operations research on HIV care cascade for MSM and people at risk for HIV and Hep C co-infection. She is the course director for various training programs on HIV and AIDS management. She is a member of the technical working group of the national AIDS STI Prevention and Control Program of the Department of Health and has led the development of national HIV management guidelines.
Dr. Ditangco has numerous publications in peer reviewed journal on HIV treatment related researches.
