Sarah K. Calabrese, PhD

Biography

Dr. Sarah K. Calabrese is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences and in the Department of Prevention and Community Health at George Washington University in Washington, DC.

She earned her PhD in clinical psychology from George Washington University in 2012. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the HIV Prevention Interdisciplinary Training Program at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS at Yale University (New Haven, CT) in 2014 and spent two years as an associate research scientist at the Yale School of Public Health before returning to George Washington University to join the faculty in 2016.

Broadly speaking, her research focuses on stigma, HIV prevention, sexual health promotion, and healthcare inequity. Her current work focuses on HIV biomedical prevention awareness, attitudes, and access, particularly among Black men who have sex with men, women, and other underserved groups.
