Savannah Cardew, MD, FRCP(C)

Biography

Dr. Savannah Cardew, MD, FRCP(C) is a general internist and clinical associate at the University Health Network and Women’s College Hospital in Toronto Ontario. She received her medical training at the University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto. In addition to general internal medicine, her primary outpatient focus is osteoporosis and bone densitometry.
Dr. Cardew has a particular interest in the investigation and treatment of bone health issues in younger women and men. Most osteoporosis outreach and education focuses on postmenopausal women and she feels that it is important to increase awareness of the unique issues in diagnosis and management in other populations.  Dr. Cardew spends most of her time seeing patients and finds it extremely rewarding but when not in clinic she is working on completing a master’s in clinical epidemiology, investigating predictors of bone density decline in women taking aromatase inhibitors for breast cancer prevention.
