Serge Paul Eholié, MD, PhD is a Professor of Infectious and Tropical Diseases at Treichville University Teaching Hospital in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. He is currently the deputy director of the France Recherche Nord et Sud Sida-HIV Hépatites (ANRS) Research Center of Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. He is the President of the Réseau Africain des Praticiens Assurant la prise en charge des personnes vivant avec le VIH/SIDA (RESAPSI). Dr. Eholié is the African representative on the Governing Council of International AIDS Society (AIDS) and is the president of the Société Africaine de Pathologie Infectieuse (SAPI). He co-chaired the Clinical Guidelines Development Group for the World Health Organization HIV guidelines in 2013 and 2015.
In 2017, he was a co-recipient with Xavier Anglaret of the Christophe Mérieux Prize that is awarded to a researcher or team of researchers studying infectious diseases in developing countries. Dr. Eholié is currently involved in research on HIV therapeutic strategies, HIV and hepatitis comorbidities, non-malaria febrile illnesses, emerging diseases, and vaccine trials.
