Dr. Shelly Karuna leads global clinical trials collaborations to inform HIV and COVID-19 vaccine development and to advance monoclonal antibody regimens for HIV and COVID-19 prevention, treatment and cure.
As Director of the Broadly Neutralizing Monoclonal Antibody Program of the NIH/NIAID-funded HIV Vaccine Trials Network, she guides the Program’s vision and strategic plan.
As a senior clinical trials physician in the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division at the Fred Hutchinson Center Research Center, Dr. Karuna is a resource for multi-disciplinary study teams, leading a portfolio of Phase 1-3 HIV and SARS-CoV-2 preventative antibody and vaccine clinical trials through development, implementation, analysis, and publication.
