Shema Tariq, PhD, FRCP

Biography

Dr Shema Tariq is a Clinical Academic at UCL's Institute for Global Health and Honorary Consultant HIV Physician at Mortimer Market Centre. Her research focuses on the health and wellbeing of women living with HIV, and her doctoral research focused on women's engagement with HIV care during and after pregnancy. She is past Vice Chair of the British HIV Association's HIV in Pregnancy Guidelines Committee, and remains a member of the group, leading the writing of the infant feeding guidelines. She is a Trustee of Positively UK and Tommy's, the UK's leading charity funding research into pregnancy loss and preterm birth, and Chair of the Steering Group of 4M Network, a UK-wide Mentor Mother Programme in HIV.
