Shubhada V. Shenai is an experienced microbiologist, molecular biologist, and research scientist, with a strong track record in developing and evaluating innovative molecular diagnostic assays and biomarkers for the rapid detection of infectious diseases and treatment monitoring. She is proficient in lab designing and development, diagnostics and lab system strengthening in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Her expertise also encompasses areas such as external quality assessment (EQA), lab equipment procurement and maintenance, biosecurity, biosafety and adherence to good laboratory practices. Currently, she holds the role of a medical officer at FIND India, her primary focus is to facilitate the integration of rapid, point-of-care innovations like diagnostic tests, technologies, and tools into healthcare workflows, thereby elevating patient care standards.
Dr Shenai is a meticulous reviewer for numerous peer-reviewed journals and conference abstracts and has made significant contributions to organizational and national guidelines and diagnostic tools. She boasts 35 publications in peer review journals, one book chapter, more than 50 presentations at national & international conferences and was honored with 3 gold medals. Shubhada earned her master's in microbiology and doctorate in applied biology from the University of Mumbai, India, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, New jersey, USA.
