Dr. Simiso Sokhela, a published researcher, has extensive experience in the management of HIV, having worked within South Africa’s public and private health sectors with a personal vision of reversing the HIV tide. In 2013, she joined Ezintsha as Senior Research Clinician and led the establishment of HIV treatment research sites. Her operational and clinical governance expertise has ensured that clinical outcomes for HIV and more recently, COVID-19 clinical trial participants, have been unparalleled. Her focus on staff wellness and training ensures a highly motivated clinical workforce with a drive for quality healthcare. She has been site lead for various trials including ADVANCE and is currently Principal Investigator on several HIV treatment and COVID-19 prevention and treatment trials.
She is involved in training programs with the Foundation for Professional Development, South African HIV Clinicians society and many other institutions, and is completing her MSc (Med) Bioethics and Health Law with the University of Witwatersrand.
