Virology Education and AME are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Stephen A. Harrison. We are proud to have worked with Dr. Harrison at our Innovations in NAFLD Care Workshops (2022, 2023), where he presented on the pharmacological treatments and care for NASH.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

Dr. Stephen A. Harrison earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center and a 4th-year advance liver disease fellowship at Saint Louis University.

He was board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Dr. Harrison was a visiting professor of Hepatology and Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics. With more than 350 peer-reviewed publications and an H-Index of 106, he was internationally known for his studies and significant research contributions in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Dr. Harrison also served as the Chairman of Summit Clinical Research and of Pinnacle Clinical Research, LLC.
