Stephen Korsman is a senior lecturer/consultant virologist at the Groote Schuur Complex of National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) and the Division of Medical Virology, Department of Pathology, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Cape Town. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Pretoria in 1999, his Fellowship of the College of Pathologists (Virology) of South Africa in 2005, and completed his dissertation for his Masters of Medicine (Virology) titled "Molecular Epidemiology of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV-1 in Children at Tygerberg Hospital" at Stellenbosch University in 2006.
His interests include undergraduate medical student teaching, molecular biology, virology in court, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis E.
