Biography

Dr. Tawesak Tanwandee is a distinguished hepatologist and Professor of Gastroenterology at the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand, where he has dedicated over 35 years to clinical practice, research, and medical education.

He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital, President-Elect of the Gastroenterological Association of Thailand, and Secretary General of the Liver Foundation of Thailand. Additionally, he is an esteemed steering committee member of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL). Dr. Tanwandee is a past President of both APASL and the Thai Association for the Study of the Liver (THASL).

His primary research interests focus on the treatment of chronic hepatitis B and C, hepatocellular carcinoma, and the cost-effectiveness of hepatitis B and C therapies.

Dr. Tanwandee is an active member of several prestigious international organizations, including the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), and APASL.
