Tengiz Tsertsvadze M.D., Ph.D. is Director General of the Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center, Tbilisi, Georgia and full professor of the Faculty of Medicine, Tbilisi State University.
Prof. Tsertsvadze is a member of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) for the projects of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. He is President of the Association of Infectious Diseases and Hepatology of Georgia.
Prof. Tsertsvadze serves as a country expert in Infectious Diseases and HIV/AIDS expert in WHO. He is an active member of the New-York Academy of Sciences and several international medical societies/associations, including International AIDS Society, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) etc.
Prof. Tserstvadze received Georgian National Award in Medicine in 2011. Europe Business Assembly awarded Tengiz Tsertsvadze the prize "Queen Victoria Commemorative Medal". He also holds the U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation Award.
Prof. Tsertsvadze’s research interests include HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis.
Prof. Tsertsvadze has authored up to 100 publications, including manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
