Tinah P’Ochan

Biography

Tinah is a Ugandan queer feminist who has spent the last 10years working on issues of gender and sexuality in Uganda. A social worker by profession, in 2018 she went on to start organizing a vibrant grass root community of marginalized women; mobilizing them into collective action to access to health services, justice and improved standards of living in Northern Uganda.

She is currently the Team leader at Resilience Uganda, which is a feminist organization that seeks to achieve health and wellbeing of Lesbians, Queer, Bisexual and transgender women as well as female sex workers in Gulu.

Tinah also volunteers to mentor, motivate, grow and provide safe spaces for queer women in Northern Uganda. She trains and supports community members to Voice, self-awareness, self-care and inspires young people to demand for sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Besides activism, Tinah does Landscaping, farming, media content writing, research and counselling.
