Torri Metz, MD, MS

Torri Metz, MD, MS, is Vice-Chair for Research, Division Chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Utah Health. She is a practicing maternal-fetal medicine subspecialist. Dr. Metz completed both her medical school and residency training at the University of Colorado. She then went on to complete her Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship and Master of Science in Clinical Investigation at the University of Utah in 2012. She is a member of both the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) Clinical Document Review Panel and SMFM Board of Directors. Nationally, she has served on the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Committee on Clinical Practice Guidelines-Obstetrics and is an American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology board examiner for subspecialty boards. She is the Deputy Editor for Obstetrics for the Green Journal, Obstetrics & Gynecology. She is the PI for the Utah Center of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver NICHD Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network and has R01 funding from the National Institutes of Health to study the association between cannabis use and adverse pregnancy outcomes. She is also a center PI for the NIH RECOVER initiative with a focus on studying the long-term effects of SARS-CoV-2 infection during pregnancy on mothers and their offspring.
