Tracey Naledi, MBChB, FCPHM (SA)

Biography

Tracey Naledi is a Public Health Medicine Specialist who has held technical & management positions in Government and NGO sectors in South Africa and Botswana over the last 20 years. Her work has focussed on the translation of research into policy and practice, addressing health inequity and strengthening systems for health. She is the Deputy Dean: Social Accountability and Health Systems at the University of Cape Town (UCT) Faculty of Health Sciences and was most recently the Chief Director for Health Programmes at the Western Cape Government: Health & Wellness in South Africa. Tracey is the Founding Chairperson of Tekano, Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity in South Africa and the Honorary Secretary of the Council for Public Health Medicine of the Colleges of Medicine in South Africa. She is currently completing her PhD evaluating a conditional cash transfer to address sexual reproductive health in young women in Cape Town. Tracey is a Discovery Foundation Fellow and the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation Fellow.
