Biography

Tugba Efendigil has over 10 years of professional, academic, and research development experience on data-driven models for challenging business problems. Currently serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Operations & Technology Management department at Boston University, she is renowned for her expertise in the digital transformation of supply chains and circular supply chain domains. Her research focuses on enhancing supply chain design to foster agility and resilience by utilizing cutting-edge artificial intelligence models. With an extensive background as a research scientist at MIT and various roles in several academic institutions and start-ups, she seamlessly integrates practical and academic insights into her work, publishing on technology and analytics in prestigious journals. Dr. Efendigil previously served as an Associate Professor at Yildiz Technical University in Turkey, where she received her MS and PhD in Industrial Engineering. She pursued postdoctoral research at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium, where her research lay on prioritizing replacement decisions for medical devices in healthcare systems. Dr. Efendigil is a member of the IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society and the Decision Science Institute, further solidifying her status as a thought leader in her field.
