Valentina Cambiano, PhD

Biography

Valentina Cambiano is an Associate Professor in Epidemiology in the Institute for Global Health at University College London. She is deeply interested in addressing research questions of public health importance related mainly to HIV. In particular, she models HIV epidemics to investigate the impact and value of different HIV testing modalities and prevention tools, including evaluating their cost-effectiveness and collects and analyses observational data.

Currently, she holds a UKRI Future Leader Fellowship, working in partnership with the Centre for Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS Research Zimbabwe, and is co-investigator of the HIV Modelling Consortium. In the past, she worked in designing and analyzing data from HIV observational studies (including the Royal Free HIV Cohort Study, PrEPaRe (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Resistance) study within the RESPOND network and the PARTNER study, which led to the U=U initiative).
