Vandita Morarka

Biography

Vandita's experiences working with oppressed communities in Mumbai as a teenager and her personal lived experiences made her realise the importance of gender justice, shifting power, and community organising as a practise of hope. Vandita is a social justice leader with expertise in developing knowledge products and programs, organisational transformations, leading campaigns and organising communities, especially with a focus on youth and 21st century labour rights, technology, gender justice, mental health and feminist leadership.

Vandita is the Founder and CEO of One Future Collective: a feminist youth led non profit with the vision of a world built on social justice, led by communities of care. Her work here develops feminist leadership capacities for social change while supplementing efforts through knowledge co-creation, re-imagining advocacy and feminist service provision. Since 2017, One Future Collective has built 7500 feminist leaders and has indirectly reached 1.2 million people. She is also an anti-oppression and social justice facilitator, rights based strategy consultant and a feminist researcher. 

Vandita is a fellow with Acumen, Change,org, WISE Emerging Leaders and Swedish Institute's Leader Lab, and is a Global Shaper at the World Economic Forum. Vandita serves as a Director at CIVICUS and on the Board of Studies (Political Science) at Sophia College for Women. She is a qualified lawyer from Government Law College, Mumbai and holds an MA Honours in Public Policy from University of Mumbai.
