Dr. Victor Omollo earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery from Moi University, School of Medicine, Eldoret, Kenya in 2014 and a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA in 2020. Dr Omollo is a research scientist at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI; Kisumu, Kenya) with a keen interest in developing and testing interventions that will reduce the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections among adolescent girls and young women. He has previously worked on a pilot study on expedited partner treatment and partner HIV self-testing among the enrolled women diagnosed with Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhea and developed and externally validated a risk score tool to identify women at risk of STIs who may benefit from diagnostic testing, and women at low risk who do not need testing, to facilitate cost-saving targeted testing. He is currently leading the pharmacy-delivered PrEP services projects in Western Kenya.
