Biography

Wole Ameyan, MBBS, MIPH is an adolescent HIV specialist with wide ranging experience in program and policy areas. Trained as a medical doctor and with a master’s degree in international public health, Wole has ten years of progressive clinical and programmatic experience on adolescent HIV in diverse working environments. Having worked with government ministries, NGOs and the UN, Wole has extensive experience in working closely with governments and stakeholders towards driving the agenda for effective programming towards improving access to quality HIV care for adolescents. With a focus on supporting the delivery of evidence-based service delivery interventions through country owned and sustainable health systems, Wole excels in both macro level support for policy development as well as technical support including for capacity building and tools development to drive the adolescent health and HIV agenda. Wole currently works at the headquarters of the World Health Organization in Geneva as technical officer on adolescent HIV, a role that spans prevention and treatment scopes of work. He is particularly interested and a strong advocate for the meaningful engagement of adolescents living with and at high risk of HIV in all facets of programs.
