Dr. Yogesh Batra, MD (Medicine), DM (Gastroenterology), AIIMS, has close to 20 years of experience in the field of Gastroenterology. After completing his MBBS and MD from GSVM Medical College, Kanpur; Dr. Batra started his career with AIIMS as a Pool and Research Officer in the year 2000. Since then he has been associated with several prominent hospitals viz. SGPGI Lucknow,Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Batra Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, Director of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at BLK Super Speciality Hospital, Pusa Road, New Delhi and presently as senior consultant Apollo Hospital New Delhi.
During his tenure with AIIMS, Dr. Batra was responsible for running the Liver Clinic and was part of the core team that spearheaded the establishment of GE ICU and procedures like MARS and RFA. At the Batra Hospital, he was responsible for setting up the Liver Clinic, upgradation of endoscopy services and starting the DNB Gastroenterology Programme. While at BLK, he established the Endoscopic Ultrasound services and started the DNB Programme in Gastroenterology.
Dr. Batra’s primary areas of interest are: Therapeutic Endoscopy and Transplant Hepatology. He has been trained in Germany (2002) and Hong Kong for Therapeutic Endoscopy (2003) and at Cleveland Clinic, USA (2012) for Transplant Hepatology. Dr. Batra has been a visitor / trainee for Therapeutic Endoscopy in Germany, Hong Kong and Bangkok.
He is a Life Member of Indian Society of Gastroenterology, (ISG); Indian National Association for the Study of Liver (INASL) and Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India (SGEI).
Dr. Batra has close to 30 papers in various International and National journals to his credit. He has organized large number of conferences and has been invited as a speaker at various conferences, lectures, television and radio shows over the years.
