Biography

‘’Appreciate the past, utilize the present and do not be afraid to create the future’’- Yolokazi Mfuto

Yolokazi Mfuto is a master’s candidate in the department of Political Sciences and International Relations at the University Of Fort Hare. She works as an assistant Administrator in the Student Governance and Development Unit where she focuses on empowering student leaders.

Yolokazi began her leadership journey in 2014 where she joined Enactus and later served as President for the organisation at the University of Fort Hare. The award winning public speaker has graduated from a number of leadership programs such as YALI RCL, Friedrich- Ebert Stiftung Fort Hare Autumn School, Democracy Works and Activate Change Drivers. She is former member of the Youth Advisory Panel for the United Nations Development Agency (UNFPA) and currently a fellow for the Apolitical Public Service program. Yolo as she is affectionately known is passionate about student and youth holistic development. Her passion lies in community development, education, gender equality and she prides herself in feminism.
