Yuki Takemoto is the UNAIDS Country Director for Pakistan and Afghanistan, based in Islamabad, Pakistan. She brings over twenty years of experience in development cooperation, including fifteen years leading policy, programmes and strategic partnerships for health, gender equality and human rights through multiple UN agencies (UNDP, UNESCO, UNAIDS) and UN interagency coordination mechanisms in Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Europe.
Ms. Takemoto has also worked for the Japanese Foreign Service and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. She holds a Master of Public Policy (University of Michigan, USA) and a Bachelor of Laws (University of Kyoto, Japan).
