Anna Sick-Samuels, MD, MPH

Biography

Dr. Sick-Samuels is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and an Associate Hospital Epidemiologist in the Department of Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She completed her undergraduate degree in Microbiology at the University of Maryland College Park. She attended medical school at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, during which time she also obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She completed pediatrics residency at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. After fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, she joined the faculty of the division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. The focus of Dr. Sick-Samuel’s research is to develop effective strategies preventing multidrug-resistant and healthcare-associated infections in children. She has supported the response to COVID-19 at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, particularly as related to pediatric care.
