Dr. Beng Eu is a GP and co-director of Prahran Market Clinic in Melbourne, Australiaand a Senior Fellow (honorary) at the Department of General practice, University of Melbourne. He has special interests in HIV, STIs, LGBTIQ+ health, and ‘alcohol and other drugs’ medicine (which include an opiate substitution therapy program). It is a site for major HIV trials as well as a site for initiating some independent trials. Dr. Eu has served on the Victorian state HIV advisory board, ministerial advisory committee on LGBTI health and well-being (and chairing the AOD working group in this committee), as well as the LGBTI Taskforce. He has published and presented talks on topics including HIV and ageing, Methamphetamine use and HIV, and HIV and testosterone /anabolic steroids, Performance and Image Enhancing Drugs (PIEDs) and Transgender Health. He has presented at several major Australian and International medical conferences (including IAS, APACC, ASHM, IMIA, APSAD, AUSPATH, WONCA conferences and is currently also a technical advisor with ASHM and principal investigator of the ICAROS study (Australian observational study on injectable Cabotegravir/Rilpivirine).
