Catia Marzolini obtained a degree in Pharmacy followed by a PhD in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship within the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, USA.
 Catia Marzolini is an Associate Professor in the Service of Clinical Pharmacology at the University Hospital in Lausanne and in the Division of Infectious Diseases & Hospital Epidemiology at the University Hospital of Basel. Her research focuses on pharmacological determinants of antiretroviral drug response with a particular interest for the simulation of antiretroviral drug pharmacokinetics and drug-drug interactions in special populations as well as prescribing in elderly people with HIV. She has authored/co-authored more than 150 publications. Catia Marzolini is also leading the therapeutic drug monitoring unit in the Service of Clinical Pharmacology at the University Hospital in Lausanne. Lastly, Catia Marzolini is the scientific lead of the Liverpool HIV and COVID drug-drug interactions website and is in charge of developing the content of the websites. She currently serves on the European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS) guidelines committee where she co-chairs the drug-drug interaction section and is a member of the scientific board of the Swiss HIV Cohort Study.
