Cristina Mussini, MD

Biography

Prof. Cristina Mussini is the Director of the Infectious Diseases Clinics, University Hospital, Modena, Italy since 2011; she is actively following as outpatients more than 400 individuals (out of 1,600) with HIV infection.
She is one of the leading physicians and researchers on HIV in Italy, but since 2011, becoming chief of the Department she included among her scientific interests also infection control and antimicrobial stewardship. The results in these last topics were so relevant that Emilia Romagna Region choose for the ECDC country visit the Policlinico of Modena hospital as a good example of antimicrobial stewardship and infection control.

 
As of July 2018, Dr. Cristina Mussini has published a total of 214 papers in peer reviewed journals with Impact Factor, including The Lancet, The Lancet HIV, The Lancet Infectious Diseases, PLOS Medicine, PLOS Genetics, AIDS, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Annals of Internal Medicine, J. Infectious Diseases, Antiviral Therapy, J. AIDS, Annals of Neurology.
