David N. Assis, MD is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Section of Digestive Diseases at Yale School of Medicine. His clinical and academic focus centers on autoimmune liver diseases, specifically Autoimmune Hepatitis, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, and Primary Biliary Cholangitis. Dr. Assis performs clinical and translational research in these areas with a goal of developing new biomarkers and treatments. He also has a clinical and research interest in liver manifestations of Cystic Fibrosis. He is a steering committee member of the International Autoimmune Hepatitis Group and the International PSC Study Group. In addition, Dr. Assis serves as program director for the GI fellowship at Yale.
