Dr Denis Tindyebwa is the Executive Director and Co-founder of the African Network for the Care of Children Affected by HIV/AIDS (ANECCA). He provides technical leadership and advocacy for pediatric HIV on the continent, maintains working knowledge of significant global developments and trends in the field of paediatric HIV prevention, care and treatment, and actively participates in designing programs to appropriately respond to these issues.
Prior to being the Executive Director of ANECCA Dr Tindyebwa was the Regional Director Care and Treatment for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF), providing technical support to EGPAF supported programs in 16 countries (14 in Africa), for the scale up of care and treatment of HIV infected children.
He has over 25 years’ experience in research and management of HIV infected children in Africa. He initiated the development and is the main editor of the ANECCA Handbook of Paeditric AIDS in Africa which has been used widely in pre-service and in-service of health workers in over 25 countries in Africa and is available in English, French and Portuguese languages.
