Dr Dino Rech is a recognized global health leader, published researcher, and physician with first-hand knowledge of how technology can both help and hinder health system progress and outcomes. He has dedicated his career to the advancement of global health through research and innovation, holding various leadership and technical roles at organizations such as the Centre for HIV and AIDS Prevention Studies (CHAPS), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, The Aurum Institute and most recently the Seattle based AI-focused technology NPO, Audere. As the CEO of Audere, Dino enthusiastically drives the organization's vision and oversees the implementation of its strategy. As a proud South African, he is passionate about Audere's mission to deploy tech solutions that solve health challenges facing developing world environments.
During his time at Audere, Dr Rech's and the organization's work was focused on utilizing computer vision, large language models and predictive analytics to improve health system outcomes and workflows for a range of Malaria, HIV and COVID related use cases . Examples include more effective and objective real time surveillance data on testing for these conditions, supportive supervision of community and other frontline health workers, improved self testing and care options with linkages to health system follow ups and telehealth, and most recently information provision and support through the use of tailored language models.
