Hans-Jürgen Stellbrink is professor of Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, at the University of Hamburg, Germany. He studied at Hamburg University, Germany, and underwent internal medicine and infectious diseases subspecialty training at University Hospital Eppendorf in Hamburg.
As a clinician and clinical scientist, Professor Stellbrink has been involved in HIV treatment and clinical research since 1987. In 2005, he became Scientific Director of the ICH Study Center in Hamburg, the research unit of the ICH, a large private infectious diseases outpatient treatment consortium. He is a member of the German AIDS Society (DAIG) steering committee and of the National AIDS Advisory Board for the German Ministry of Health.
