Hilda Angela Mujuru is a Paediatrician and lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe working mostly on infectious diseases. She is a past Chairperson of the UZ Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. She has worked with HIV infected children and adolescents, before and after introduction of ART in our low resource setting for more than 15years. She has been involved in managing HIV infected adolescents over the years in a large HIV clinic with more than 4500 registered children and adolescents being more than 1500. Dr. Mujuru has overseen the decentralisation and transitioning of these about half of these adolescents from our clinic to adult care over the years. She has been a part the IMPAACT team in Harare conducting NIH sponsored HIV research. Dr. Mujuru participate in policy changing HIV research as a member of a team which collaborates with MRC (UK). She has also been working with World Health Organization and CDC on other infectious diseases research including impact of introduction of rotavirus and pneumococcus conjugate vaccines in Zimbabwe. She is a member of various Ministry of Health and Child Care Technical Working Group on Paediatric HIV.
