Jens Verheyen, MD, PhD, is specialist for microbiology and virology and works as physician at the Institute for Immunology and Genetic, Kaiserslautern. He obtained is M.D. from the University of Düsseldorf in 2002, specialized in microbiology and virology at the University of Cologne and has joined the faculty of the University Duisburg-Essen in 2012. He is consultant for travel medicine and vaccination of immunocompromised individuals. His research interests focus on drug resistance and pathology of HIV and HBV. As member/co-author of the geno2pheno project, the HIV-GRADE team and the REGA algorithm he is involved in the development and support of freely available sequence interpretation software.
