Kathy Petoumenos, PhD

Biography

Kathy Petoumenos is Professor and Head of the Biostatistics and Databases Program at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney. She has more than 25 years’ experience as a biostatistician and epidemiologist, with a primary focus on HIV cohort studies and clinical trials. She is the Principal Investigator for several large-scale, multi-centre observational cohort studies on HIV across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Her research focus is on the long-term clinical outcomes of individuals living and aging with HIV. More recently, her research interests have expanded to include the health and well-being of women living with HIV, with a particular emphasis on addressing critical evidence gaps across the female life course.
