Madeleine Durand, MD, MSc

Biography

Madeleine Durand is associate professor of Medicine at Univsersité de Montréal and a reseracher at the CHUM research center. Follwosing her specialty training in internal medicine, she completed a Masters of Epidemology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her research program focuses on discovering pathwayss to successful aging with HIV infection. She leads the Candian HIV and Aging Cohort Study, and is keenly interesterested in discovering and testing novel strategies to mitigate the risk of early onset comorbidities experienced by people living with HIV. She is particularly interested in the direct link between HIV viral persistence, inflammation, and comorbidity.
