Maria-Jesus Garrido, PhD

Biography

Dr. Maria-Jesus Garrido is an associated professor of Biopharmacy and Pharmacokinetics at the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition in the University of Navarra, Spain, where she combine teaching and research activities. During her postdoc training, she worked on preclinical mechanistic pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics models under the supervision of Drs. Meindert Danhof and Piet H van der Graaf at the University of Leiden in the Netherland. She has collaborated with the EMA in the working group of Modeling and Simulation, as external advisor.

Currently, her research is focused on new therapies in oncology based on monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) targeting specific immune-checkpoints, either in monotherapy or associated with vaccines, and the development of nanocarriers conjugated with those MAbs. They combine in-vitro and in-vivo experiments with mechanistic quantitative approaches to build predictive models for translational purposes (www.unav.edu/psp).
